Random facts about me

In case you didn't notice, my "about me" description on this blog is pretty vague and pretty lame.

Since I never really know how to respond to the "So, tell me about yourself" request, I decided to compile a bunch of random facts about myself completely off the top of my head. Maybe they will help you get to know me a little better.

~ I love Italian food. It's pretty much my favorite genre of food.

~ I'm a book nerd, and I have multiple favorites.

~ I hate awkward small talk. And on a general information basis, I don't like talking about myself. I'm not really all that interesting.

~ My favorite singers are Christina Perri and Taylor Swift.

~ I don't watch a lot of TV. I'm only dedicated to about 2-3 shows.

~ This random fact originally stated that I had three dogs. But I lost two of them within less than a year of each other, so I only have one now. No, I'm not okay.

~ Ice cream makes me really happy. Cookies and cream is my favorite flavor.

~ The number one thing I want to do before I die is visit Sydney, Australia.

~ I never wear make-up unless I'm going to a really special or important event. I don't like the feeling of make-up on my face.

~ I have a really hard time getting rid of my old stuff because everything I own has a memory attached to it. I hope I don't turn into a hoarder or something.

~ I hate driving. I suck at it, and it gives me anxiety. If I could get away with being a pedestrian for the rest of my life, I probably would.

~ As much as I love and have a guilty pleasure for cheesy romantic comedies and chick flicks with predictable endings, I am much more fond of off-beat, unconventional romances like (500) Days of Summer, Silver Linings Playbook, and Her. So feel free to send me movie recommendations!

~ Two of the first things I notice about a person is their smile and their ability to make me laugh. If you smile a lot and make me laugh a lot, it will be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. I can't be around people who don't have a sense of humor.

~ I hate talking on the phone unless I know you really well or you're good at holding a conversation. If there's an awkward pause that lingers for too long, I will probably hang up on you.

~ I have a really short attention span.

  2. Hmm! I recognize similar things in me. The social anxiety, the book nerd, the driving, the phone talks .... I spent a fortune to obtain my driving license! By the way, nice to meet you! I enjoyed your writings in tinybuddha!

I am an avid TinyBuddha reader and your article in today's was great! It lead me to your blog and reading the above part made me feel like we are very similar people..I totally relate to about 95% of your random facts about me. 1. Hi Katie! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. I loved writing this little list, and several people have told me they can relate to it.

Good luck with your writing! Running a blog can feel stressful at times, depending on different factors, but it's so much fun. It's like therapy for me. :-)

  4. When you wrote about depression, I felt like it was my freshman year of college self talking. Now, as a senior on the brink of graduation and medical school, I feel more stable. But many of your articles resonate with me. I just discovered your blog today because somebody posted your most recent article on FB. I struggle with self-loathing daily. Another article that felt like it resonated was the one about getting overly attached. I'd love to be your e-friend!

    Sincerely,

    Ananya

  7. If you dig unconventional romances, you have to sit down and watch "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". Like you should do that right now.

It's probably the least funny movie Jim Carrey but it hits the spot as far as unconventional romances. Pretty sure I've sat down and watched it with a whiskey, and yeah, a gallon of ice cream, at 2am after every breakup I've had, haha.

    1. Haha I've heard that movie is the mother of all unconventional romances (next to 500 Days of Summer), but I never have seen it. I would love to watch it sometime. Thanks for the recommendation! :-)

    2. Hi, Madison
I am Asqa from Indonesia. I am also an introvert and shy, though most people think that I am extrovert. But the feeling of be able to mingle with people and do small talk still become my biggest fear. Writing is the way of my showing my existence and how I communicate with my surroundings.Nice knowing you :)
